The Instructional Development model is definitely a rational model if implementing training. Currently the model systematically works starting with assessment of the problem to evaluating the out come at the end. I think this current model works for some business models but not all, also I believe it limits the creative minds of the own workers and stop self-thinking to find solutions without holding their hand. There are many companies that are using corporate training wisely, like Jet Blue's Corporate University. This implmentation by Jet Blue allows for continuous education to its employees so they are consistently on the edge of the technology curve and to provide new and smarter methods to the corporate world.

  1. I believe the model does work for most business models. Sure, there may be some, but in most cases it works. As for the workers finding solutions on their own; I don't think the training will inhibit their self-thinking, but instead I think that it will help them realize how they could use the technology to help them work more efficient. Sure, they can come up with other ways they could use it, but they still need a solid grasp of the technology in general. The training ensures that every employee is on the same page.
