The two main learning methods of humans, Behaviorism and Cognitive processing are two very different ways scientists look upon humans brains in the way they work. Behaviorism is the original thought that says we think like all other mammals. This way of thinking is based on our behaviors and emotions which result in the process of learning. Using the behaviors of humans and their emotions to teach them through repetition in a sense. This Behaviorism theory although is pretty scientifically true, I believe that Cognitive thinking is what actually makes humans superior to every other animal on the planet. Cognitive thinking is the ability to rationally think, break down, and process what we are learning. This is where rational thought comes in and this is where humans become superior to every animal. This process is very much similar to a computer in how it reads and processes the program that wants to be run and then if it can do it, it successfully does, but if there is an error of some sort, it fails. I think Cognitive thinking also highly reflects on the hands on method of training, which for someone like me is much better than just reading a book. If you want to teach me how to cut a piece of wood just show me and I will absorb it, don't give me an instruction manual.

The Instructional Development model is definitely a rational model if implementing training. Currently the model systematically works starting with assessment of the problem to evaluating the out come at the end. I think this current model works for some business models but not all, also I believe it limits the creative minds of the own workers and stop self-thinking to find solutions without holding their hand. There are many companies that are using corporate training wisely, like Jet Blue's Corporate University. This implmentation by Jet Blue allows for continuous education to its employees so they are consistently on the edge of the technology curve and to provide new and smarter methods to the corporate world.

U-Blog 1

The first U-Blog is here and I can't tell you how excited I am to be writing to all of you today. The communication of learning technology is an extreme concern in our current business setting. There are many employees at numerous corporations who come from a generation of paper, a generation where everything was hand written or typed on a type writer. This creates a very complex problem because they have the knowledge and experience they are not skilled with the technologies being pushed forward by their companies to help make them more efficient. Many users often let their jaw drop at the sight of having to learn new technology because it seems daunting and difficult to learn. Computers really are not that hard to learn, they are very simple when you think about it, a keyboard, and a mouse with two buttons to navigate around is all you need to control a pc and get your work done. The article "Tips for a Senior friendly classroom" is a perfect example of using a step by step process at a moderate pace to slowly bring our elders up to speed in the technology world. I did this exact same thing with my grandpa and now you have to kick him off the computer if you want to get on it. I probably should have left him in the dark light and not taught him because my inbox is filling up with joke emails he continues to forward me. There is one big thing for me that is hurting me with this class, I wish blackboard had some sort of system to email you everytime something is posted on blackboard or maybe a day or two before a due date it can alert you that you have an assignment due.
