Hey Everyone,

The training session at the Lowman Home was a fantastic experience. Our workshop subject was eCards and I was afraid it was going to be boring to the senior citizens there at the Lowman Home.

However, I was quite mistaken, the senior citizens there really enjoyed my group's presentation and training session on eCards. The folks there really seemed to absorb the information and enjoyed sending funny ecards to eachother. This really was an experience for me, as the only people I've truly helped for free is family members and friends. Training someone elses grandpa on how to harass their fellow family members is a thrilling experience. The training of something we take for so granted as our young generation is extremely talented with computers is so hard for those who were not raised with computer technology at their fingers.

This workshop series that TSTM 444 is deploying in the Lowman home should be going on across the country so that our folks can use a computer efficiently.

  1. I completely agree with you in that training of those who don't or didn't have technology readily at their finger tips is essential. It makes it so much easier for older family members to communicate with those that are not near to them. I think it also really makes them feel younger and in-touch with the new world. We just finished our training session for shopping online, and it was great. The were were really interested on how to shop online but at the same time do it safely. All this is kind of real cool actually!!!

  2. I also agree with your statement, it is amazing how our generation can take what comes easy to us for granted knowing there are alot of older people that does not know how to turn on a computer. Holding a training session at the Lowman Hertiage, I got an insight for how true this really is. Taking all of this reality in, I am actually in progress of starting a adult program giving hands-on training for parents of all ages on how to operate and manage a computer.
